My go-to all rounder camera: Olympus OMD EM-5
I've done my fair share of research into the best all rounder camera. In search for one that ticks all the boxes! It took me a few months of really researching cameras to finally pick one I thought best suited to me, and let me add, I've already convinced three of my friends to purchase one for themselves.
So, drum roll please! My go-to all rounder camera is...
Introducing the Olympus OMD EM-5!
Not only is this bad boy a beauty (especially in the silver and back), but she shoots like a dream. I've been using the Olympus OMD EM-5 for several months now, for professional photoshoots to travel fun snaps, and I'm head-over-heels! I adore the image quality, the ease of shooting, and the system functions ain't so bad!
I currently use two lenses with the Olympus OMD EM-5. My go-to lens at the moment is an Olympus Zuiko 17mm f/1.8. This lens is both manual and auto which is perfect for what I use a camera for, and also produces brilliant image quality! The second is a portraiture lens, the Olympus Zuiko 50mm f/1.4, which produces the most beautiful of images, I'm always blown away by the sharpness and blur.
WHY I LIKE THE OLYMPUS OMD EM-5:
+ Lightweight and compact – win win!
+ Choice between using a viewfinder and a screen – this is more of a personal preference.
+ High quality – this does also come down to what lens you use, but even with the kit lens, this camera goes!
+ Water and dust proof – which means it's perfect for travel and daily use!
+ Built in stabiliser – Olympus dubs it the 'worlds most advanced'. The only downside is it's a little noisy, but if you want to be professional, you may as well buy a shotgun mic.
Olympus OMD EM-5 starts at $799 for the body only, and an additional $599 for the Olympus 17mm f/1.8 lens. Olympus have recently released an OMD EM-5 Mark 2, which has some fantastic extras! All prices are in Australian dollars.
